The Brecon Beacons is famous for it’s highest peak – Pen-y-Fan. Most people walk from The Storey Arms at the highest point on the road between Brecon and Merthyr Tydfil. It is a very popular route, so there is a very large car park and a very well trodden path to take you to the top. Even in the most challenging weather there will be many walkers making their way to the top.
If you prefer a greater sense of adventure and equally stunning views, I recommend walking from Tafarn-y-Garreg heading west along the Beacons Way to get the the Peak of Fan Brycheiniog.
