Walkers Welcome Criteria Checklist

Facilities and Services

A separate space should be available for drying outdoor clothing and footwear, so clothes can dry overnight. 
In the main barn there are racks for footwear and a rail with hangers for outdoor clothing.

Boot scrapes at main doors and/or access to facilities with water supply for cleaning boots and outdoor clothing.
Boot pulls are at the entrance to each accommodation and we have a wash stand in the yard to clean off boots and outdoor clothing.

First aid kit to be provided as appropriate to size of business.
HSE approved first aid kits are provided in all of the accommodations.

Food Arrangements

Hot and cold drink making equipment (offer of beverages on arrival encouraged). In serviced accommodation, ingredients should be provided or beverages to be served on request. 
Tea and coffee is provided on a tea tray for guest arrival.
There is a kettle, teapot and cafetiere provided in all of the accommodations.

Evening meal available if no eating facilities within one mile (serviced accommodation). 
All of the accommodations are self-catering.
Glanusk Cafe in Sennybridge provides cooked breakfasts and lunch. Many local pubs provide evening meals. Details are listed in the guest information files.

Early or packed breakfast available (from 7.00 am) (continental acceptable) if notified the night before.

In self-catering/letting caravan accommodation, provision made for the pre-ordering of basic grocery items prior to arrival for guests arriving without a car.
Tesco and Asda will make grocery deliveries to the farm. Please time deliveries for when you will be here or inform us beforehand so we can expect the delivery and put it in your accommodation. Please note – we will not unpack your delivery.

We do not have any local rail services.
The local bus service is run by TrawsCymru. The TrawsCymru T6 service is an hourly service linking Swansea – Neath – Ystradgynlais – Brecon (Weekdays and Saturday daytimes). Weekend travek is FREE!

The weather here is very localised due to the terrain and quite variable so we do not provide print outs of daily/weekly forecasts.
Local forecasts can be found online at BBC Weather or the Met Office.
We suggest you use https://www.mountain-forecast.com/ for a specialist weather forecast at specific peaks. (Navigate by – Range: Cambrian Mountain, Subrange: Brecon Beacons, Mountain: choose.)
